BERLIN HOSTS THRILLING SAILING CHAMPIONS LEAGUE QUALIFIER WEEKEND

Berlin, Germany – 14 April 2024

The exciting weekend of the SAILING Champions League Qualifier in Berlin has come to a successful close, delivering three days filled with breathtaking sailing action, competitive spirit, and impressive performances on the water.

From 12 April to 14 April 2024, the Berliner Yacht-Club welcomed the top sailing clubs from across Europe at the picturesque Wannsee to host the second Qualifier of the SAILING Champions League 2024. With 20 top-notch teams, radiant sunshine, and strong winds, the weekend provided the perfect setting for challenging regattas and intense competition.

The first day kicked off with promising conditions, welcoming sailors with a mix of sun, clouds, and brisk winds. After two more days of thrilling races, including 16 Flights and 48 sailed races, the top four teams were determined in a gripping Final4 finale.

In the end, the Royal Swedish Yacht Club emerged victorious in the Final4, edging out the Berliner Yacht Club, who led the preliminaries. Taking third place was the Norddeutscher Regatta Verein, closely followed by Nyländska Jaktklubben.

Additionally, Esbo Segelförening, Burgenländischer Yacht-Club, and Bordée de Tribord secured their spots in the Grand Finale in Vilamoura, Portugal, in September. The SAILING Champions League extends heartfelt thanks to the Berliner Yacht-Club, participating sailing clubs, sponsors, and spectators for their support and enthusiasm during the qualification weekend in Berlin.
